An Indian Summer on Irvine beach
Scotland's wild places are always a delight, and Irvine beach is no exception. It may not be wildly far from the beaten track, but it's long enough for a two hour walk (and another two back) with fine sand, gradually-sloping to the sea, and hardly a car or building in sight. What's more, it's a "Designated bathing beach". Here it is at sunset in late October (so warm but blowing a gale). Click here for short video (2Mb, wmv format).
