Beyond the Brain Conference
This conference was such a pleasure, if perhaps a little indulgent. A weekend in sunny Lincoln, discussing "the nature of consciousness by considering the nature of memory, especially evidence suggesting that aspects of memory may extend beyond the brain". Phew!

Burning of the clocks
This is a ceremony carried out most years on Brighton beach at the winter solstice. When I lived in Brighton in '98 I wrote a short description of that year's event, and some seven years later posted an edited version to this web site.
