Chocolate brownies
These are really quite easy to make, and just sooo scrumptious!
I particularly like to use Oxfam Fairtrade cocoa, it just seems to taste the best :)
Pre-heat the oven to Gas 5 (190ºC / 375ºF).
Use about an 8 inch square tin
Put the following into a mixing bowl:
4 ounces plain flour
8 ounces soft brown sugar
1.5 ounces cocoa
0.5 level teaspoon baking powder
Generous pinch of salt
2 eggs
In an ovenproof dish, put:
4 ounces butter
Warm in the oven for a minute or so until soft / melted
Add to the mixing bowl and mix well (suggest an electric whisk)
Put the mixture into the tin
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Leave in the tin to cool. Cut into squares about an inch across and store in an air-tight container. (Don't worry how about long they keep, they won't be around for long :)
